Weight of Love

This Artwork was realized at the beginning of March 2020. In London, where I live, the lockdown was just begun. The outbreak of coronavirus brought a sense of anxiety and uncertainty. I had family and friends abroad. We did not know when we could have seen each other again or what would have happened next. In my mind started to flourish the Idea for this project.
It was realized first with digital media and then 3D printed with a polyamide PA12 (MJF) material.
I wanted to represent a lost body, empty and not entirely formed, caring the weights of it is thought. A heavy woman's head is dragged in the attempt of lifting her from the ground. This effort is balanced by the weight of the object carried. The hairs trapped and bound the body with the head. Visually an 8 figure constantly brings our focus on the female face. In Neo-platonic, Michelangelo's terms, power is trapt into a potential that waits to change itself in action.
